Anyone who had worked or stayed in Tanjong Pagar area will know that there is a hawker centre at Tanjong Pagar Plaza.
The oldest stall in the hawker centre, Xiang Xiang Nasi Lemak had announced that they will close down their business.
It was the first stall in the hawker centre to sell the dish after the hawker centre opened in 1977.
The stall is run by an elderly couple, Mr and Mrs Ho.
A statement posted online on March 9 read:
“We will be officially closed for business now as owners will be retiring. We would like to thank everyone for the years of support. Should we have a chance to serve again, we will be updating the details and venue in social media and google.”
The stall was famous for its nice pandan-infused nasi lemak rice and dishes that start from S$3.50 per meal.
